Other Educational Activites
We offer a range of educational activities to cater for your child, including sporting events, music and drama.
Music
The school offers private music tuition in piano, clarinet, guitar and flute by Mrs Emma McCullough. Individual students enrol with Mrs McCullough and are given lessons in school time for a small tuition fee. Students from Kinder to Year 4 are currently enrolled.
Technology
Computers are constantly being updated and new programs introduced to the children. Computers are used in each of the classrooms. The school has Internet facilities in the Primary classrooms and in the Library. Our Internet connection is filtered by the Department of Education and Training to screen out the less wholesome elements of the Web.
Support Teacher, Learning Difficulties
A Support Teacher, Learning Difficulties is available to provide support for students experiencing learning difficulties, and advice for their parents.
Library
The school has a very well stocked library which offers children library research skills as well as plenty of time for their own browsing and borrowing. A library bag is needed by the children to transport books to and from home. The Teacher/Librarian is Mrs Ebert, and she works on Wednesday and Thursday. The library is open for students on Tuesday as well.
Peer Support Program
A Peer Support program operates throughout the school. Children from Year 5 and Year 6 work with small groups of younger students in developing social skills.
Scripture
Ecumenical Scripture classes are held at school 9.00 - 9.30am Mondays. If your child is not to attend a scripture class, please notify the school in writing.
Science
Some classes attend specialist Science lessons as part of the Release from Face to Face (RFF) program. These lessons emphasise experiential and group learning, and are conducted in the Science room.
