After School Care

Hours Of Operation

The service operates each afternoon on school days between 3.00pm and 6.00pm. The service is centered in the school hall.

Costs

Each year costs are reviewed. An initial joining fee covers enrolment and insurance fees. Fees are charged at a daily rate regardless of time spent at the service. All families are eligible for a government subsidy through Centrelink. Contact number: 136150 (open until 8pm weekdays)

Activities

The children who use after school care are able to choose from a variety of structured and unstructured activities each day. The coordinator plans sporting and other programs for the children to enjoy. Children are able to enjoy free time. All activities, inside or outside, are supervised.

Afternoon Tea

The service does not provide afternoon tea so children are asked to bring their own snacks and refreshments. Bathroom and staffroom facilities are readily available.

Communication

The service uses a communication book for feedback from parents. A suggestion box is also available to parents to provide ideas for possible ASC experiences.

Service Management

The service is administered by the office of Merewether Public School. The Principal, the school's Senior Administration manger, and a parent representative form the management team. A qualified coordinator is employed through LABOURCO to operate the service.
